Jaan – See Review
Reasons: immaculate, handsome service; bird’s eye view of Singapore night scene, very cozy. The Norwegian chef has left–Singaporeans don’t really like Norwegian style, too light–and French Julien Royer, trained under Michelin-starred chef, takes over. The Endangered Sartorialist just visited it and wrote a favorable review. V Day Dinner Menu: (a) 9-course with a glass of champagne $660++ a couple or (b) 12-course Helipad dinner $999++ a couple. Email me for menu.
Salt – See Review
Reasons: A pity the architecture of the restaurant didn’t utilize the great night view to its full potential; service can be shaky; but the ambience is romantic and food is good. V Day Dinner Menu: 7-course, $420++ for a couple. Email me for menu.
Au Jardin Les Amis – See Review
Reasons: A gay Mediacorp actor once said, “If you want to impress the pants off me, take me to Au Jardin.” Ok, not in those exact words. Au Jardin is pure class and sophistication, think Old Money. V Day Dinner Menu: 8-course including quail and veal at $200++ per person. Email me for menu.
Gunther’s – See Review
Reasons: Sexiest restaurant ever. Impeccable service. Great food. V Day Dinner Menu: 7-course including foie gras ravioli, Alaskan king crab pasta, wagyu beef. $298++ for a person. (Wise Guy would pick this restaurant if he had a date.) Email me for menu.
The Dining Room @ Tanjong Beach Club – See Review
Reasons: Friendly service; dining by the beach; very innovative food. V Day Dinner Menu: four-course menu costs $108++ a person, including king crab, scallops and steak. Email me for menu.
