We had several cocktails, including a classic negroni and an innovative oolong floater ($22, mango and oolong soda, Pampero rum, fresh lemon, Angostura bitters, mint sprig, lemon sorbet). Both were potent, fun, and tasty.

Besides burgers, Meatliquor serves several Asian-inspired bites. The sambal wings ($15) slathered in housemade sauce tasted like a cross between kimchi and a sweet-spicy Thai sauce. I’ve a predilection for jalapenos on the chilli cheese fries ($18).

meatliquor singaporeBut the piece de resistance is indubitably their burgers. The dead hippie ($22) was freaking gorgeous. Extremely greasy yet greasy in a way that made you want to eat more and more. Mr Fitness and I wrestled for the last bite. I won. YES.

At first bite, the Buffalo chicken burger ($20, above) was just okay. But the more I ate, the more addictive it got. They use chicken breast (I think), which was still tender, and it was crispy, sourish, and piquant. Would go damn well with beer.

The burgers, the cocktails, the decor – Meatliquor is gonna to be a game-changer in Singapore.

  1. Wow I never saw this coming! MeatLiquor is known as a good place for a burger in the UK, but is quite grungy inside, with lots of loud music which puts people off sometimes. I wonder how it will go down in SG?

  2. What else do they have on their menu? Is it the same as the ones in UK? Also, was this an invited tasting for bloggers and press?
