Cameron Highlands is a hill station located approximately 1.5 hours’ drive away from Ipoh (or 3 hours’ from KL). It is a perfect getaway from the heat of Ipoh. What is better than chilly weather? Fresh fruits, vegetable and flowers! What else can we ask for?
DAY 1
We checked in our hotel at Brinchang around 1pm. Why did we choose Brinchang? It is convenient and that is where pasar malam located! Trade off? You have to give up the views, practically shop houses view here. Side note, don’t be surprised if you are unable to find air con in your hotel room, you need a blanket more than air con in Cameron Highland.
After you check in, drive to…
Cameron Valley Tea House and Farm
Batu 34, Jalan Besar, Cameron Highlands, Pahang Darul Makmur, Malaysia
T: +60 5 4911133
Instagrammer alert! Perhaps the best view of all the plantations in Cameron Highland!
Serene, breezy, refreshing and easily accessible, a perfect place to unwind after a long drive. It is right next to a tea plantation situated in the valley. Savor a cup of tea served with mesmerizing views and peacefulness. There are many types of locally grown highland tea available, from common Earl Grey to the interesting fruit infused tea.Teas range from about RM4.00 – 6.00, not massively overpriced considering the gorgeous location. More importantly, it is much less crowded compare to the famous BOH Tea plantation (their marketing team did a great job).
Bored of sitting in the tea house? Take a stroll at tea farm for fresh air and more photos!
After drinking tea, go to…
Night market, Brinchang Pasar Malam
Along main road of Brinchang (weekend only)
Taken from Mazooq
The temperature in the highland is definitely much lower at night and most would wear sweaters to keep warm. But who needs a sweater when you are surrounded by hot delicious food?!
As usual, you can find loads of strawberry soft toys. Omit that, proceed to the hot food section. There are loads of fresh vegetables and fried food. My must try is the raw honey, freshly cut from the beehives. It is so sweet that it can bring you to heaven and come back to earth. The trip to heaven and earth only costs you RM3.00 per piece.

DAY 2
We started driving downhill after we had our breakfast. The road trip is rather straight forward, drive along the main road head to Ipoh. All the farms are along the main road.
Our first stop was…
Kok Lim Strawberry Farm
UT/MR F-255, Cameron Highland, 39100 Brinchang, Malaysia
Located along the main road, next to the time tunnel, Kok Lim Farm is one of the bigger and better managed farm in my opinion.
The price across all strawberry farms is rather similar, RM30 for 500gm or RM50 for 1kg. But we were not allowed to taste as we went around the farm. However, it is rumored that the strawberries are sweeter here! It only takes you a few minutes to fill your punnet, but it’s a good experience and it tastes better when you get to pick your own! There are strawberry jams, shakes and ice cream for sale here too.
Cameron Highlands Cactus Point
39100 Brinchang, Cameron Highlands
8am-6pm
T: + 60 5 4914180 / +60 192550068
A medium size retail nursery located by the main road (yes! We only go to those accessible farms by the main road) with large quantity of specimens. Free entry, high five! All sorts of cactus can be found here, tall, short, fleshy, thin, you name it and they probably have it. My favourite plant is “Hen and Chicks” or scientifically name Echeveria.
Open Air Market @ Kea Farm
Beside Copthorne Hotel
Heirloom carrots
An open market located beside Copthorne Hotel (formerly known as Equatorial Hotel). A word of advice: traffic here could be as nasty as CTE as all the drivers park along the road. Traders and farmers selling the best of their crops and goods here from morning till evening, including cooked food, vegetables, strawberries, flowers, souvenirs, honey and more. Shop-like-a-local tips: try go deeper into the market, those selling at outside (along main road) tend to be more expensive. Check your price along the way. Advice number two, do not buy any honey below RM50/bottle, likely to be counterfeit honey from Indonesia.
Have you seen sea coconut before?
Rose Valley
148 Tringkap, Cameron Highlands, 39000 Pahang
8am-6pm
T: +60 5 4961620 /4961491
Highly recommended to pay this rose plantation a visit. Most instagrammable place of Cameron Highland! Entry fee of RM5 is definitely worth it with a wide range of rose species as well as carnation, hibiscus, dandelion, lavender, just name it. There are peacocks and loads of koi in the garden as well. Plethora of lovely things in the garden to admire, too limited time!
Cameron Lavender Garden
Tringkap, Cameron Highlands, 39100 Pahang, Malaysia
Entry fee of RM6 for adult and RM4 for children. Yes, there are loads of lavender but near the entrance only, disappointed! Deeper at the back are mostly gerbera, daisies, morning glory and etc. However, it is undeniable that the flowers are nice, especially Lavender. It is a beautiful place. Will I go again? Nope.
