At QVM, you can purchase fresh veg, fruits and you can even bring them back to Singapore. They were selling 2 punnets of strawberries for only AUD5. We bought lotsa nuts from QVM. We also bought honey and cheese. If the weather is good, pack some food from QVM and go to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thatsmelbourne.com.au\/Placestogo\/ParksandGardens\/AllParksandGardens\/Pages\/4435.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Flagstaff Gardens<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0which is nearby for picnic.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After your picnic, you can head to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.swanstonstreet.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Swanston Street<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for shopping where you can find Supre, JayJay and other surf shops. If you need a break, go to one of the cafes at Hardware St. The popoular one will be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hardwaresociete\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Hardware Societe<\/b><\/a>\u00a0(118-120 Hardware St) but we settled for Manchester Press. Hardware St and its surrounding area is a nice place to chill. You will actually see another caf\u00e9, Brother Baba Budan, before you walk into the alley, but DO NOT get tempted by the coffee aroma. Stay focus and head to Manchester Press. Manchester Press resembles a warehouse, very minimalistic design and has very nice art pieces hanging from the wall.\u00a0 Atmosphere was great. People were doing work on their laptops, students were chatting, business people were having a break. Breakfast is served all day. We had toasted\u00a0<strong>plain bagel with smoked salmon, dill cream cheese and baby capers<\/strong>\u00a0(AUD13) which we thought was reasonably priced. We asked for more dill cream cheese and they gave us a huge extra serving of it. We also had\u00a0<strong>Latte<\/strong>\u00a0(AUD3.50) which was silky smooth. I love Cypriot food. My first time having it was in London and I missed Taramosalata dip very much. Food is reasonably priced. This place serves exceptional coffee with beans by <strong>Prahran roasters, Dukes<\/strong> and it serves very awesome food as well. Brunch at Hammer &amp; Tong is on weekends, till 3pm and dinner is offered from Tuesdays to Saturdays. When we were there on a Saturday morning at 11am, there was a long queue in front of us. The waiter was super nice and kept assuring that he will come back to us soon. Many people who came in, saw the snake-long queue and decided to find another place nearby for brunch instead. We were too stuffed to order more but we will definitely order this if we go back Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>If you prefer to not wait for seats at Hammer &amp; Tong, you can always go to <strong>Industry Beans<\/strong> which is nearby. We walked past it and it looked pretty hipster as well. The aroma of the coffee beans also filled the air even before we saw the place. It looks like a nice place to chill out.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/industrybeans.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Industry Beans<br \/>\n<\/a><\/strong>Unit 3 Cnr Fitzroy &amp; Rose St,\u00a0Fitzroy, VIC 3065<\/p>\n<p>After our very satisfying meal in Hammer &amp; Tong, we went to <strong>Rose Street Artist Market<\/strong>. The Rose St. Artists\u2019 Market operates every Saturday and Sunday. The hours of operation are 11am till 5pm while the caf\u00e9 beside the market, Young Bloods Diner opens at 9am. If you are into home made jewellery, soap, candles, this market is the place for you. It\u2019s a really small market and we didn\u2019t get anything there. You can also chill out at Young Bloods Diner, which seems like a pretty decent place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/theyoungbloods.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Young Bloods Diner<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a>60 Rose St,\u00a0Fitzroy<br \/>\nWednesday \u2013 Sunday: 7am &#8211; 5pm<\/p>\n<p>After going in and out of shops, shops and more shops, we took a break at <strong>Atomica Caffe<\/strong> along Brunswick. It was the first caf\u00e9 in the area to roast coffee beans on the premises, and one of the first combined caf\u00e9\/roasteries in the world. It has been around for 17 years. We had a <strong>butter crossiant<\/strong> with extra butter which was heavenly, and a <strong>hot mocha<\/strong> which was equally heavenly in such cold weather.
