To meet the needs of stressful CBD workers, in addition to a wide range of whiskeys<\/strong> and\u00a0wines<\/strong>,\u00a0there are some\u00a0very interesting<\/strong>\u00a0drinks<\/strong>, such as\u00a0toffee apple cider<\/strong> ($13), a strawberry-and-vanilla cider\u00a0<\/strong>($14), and beers like\u00a0Lucifer<\/strong> ($14), Dead Pony Club<\/strong> ($12),\u00a05am Saint\u00a0<\/strong>($12), and Even More Jesus<\/b> ($34). The cocktails by Jo Sunafri<\/b> (from Coq and Balls)\u00a0are equally fun, Death & Resurrection<\/b> ($15, white rum with yuzu) and\u00a0A Made Man<\/strong> ($15, twist to Old-Fashioned). My shaken, not stirred\u00a0Blood & Skull\u00a0<\/strong>($17, award-winning Canadian crystal head vodka, sweet vermouth and cherry heering) was divine! A sweet aroma of orange rind, chased by a very smooth vodka, leaving a sweet aftertaste of cherry.
\n<\/p>\n

\"Mad
\nThe\u00a0Western\u00a0food\u00a0<\/strong>by a\u00a0Muslim chef Sunny<\/b>, with\u00a0halal suppliers,\u00a0<\/b>is generally healthy and competitively priced, with\u00a0lunch<\/strong>\u00a0starting at\u00a0$10 nett<\/strong>.\u00a0For\u00a0bar grub<\/strong> or\u00a0starters<\/strong>, go for the rather spicy\u00a0jalapeno poppers<\/strong> ($10, above), whole jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese, fried in a light tempura style–eat while it’s hot, not so good when it cools–OR the\u00a0cheese board<\/strong> ($18) with three cheeses,\u00a0garlic herb<\/strong>,\u00a0blue cheese<\/strong> and\u00a0camembert<\/strong>. The board comes with\u00a0dulce de membrillo<\/em>, a quince jam that makes all cheese palatable. So even if you can’t take blue cheese, just eat it with membrillo.<\/p>\n

\"Mad
\nFor\u00a0mains<\/strong>, the yellowfin tuna steak<\/b> ($20, above) was nicely seared on the surface, which was then coated with sesame seeds. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary. The\u00a0smoked duck breast<\/strong> ($18, below) was better. More than just your average salty smoked duck, this one had layers of tastes and texture: from a lightly salted hamlike taste to a sweet aftertaste, from a tenderness to a chewy skin.<\/p>\n

The desserts were the weak point: only 3 options, and the\u00a0warm homemade brownie\u00a0<\/strong>($8) was so-so. Better to save your calories.

All in all, the\u00a0drinks<\/strong> are worth many visits, and the food<\/strong> is healthy. Sexy interior<\/strong> too.<\/p>\n
