It is harder to discover new hawkers because they seldom publicize themselves, so there is a lag in transmission of information.<\/p>\n<p>This month, people are doing very interesting things with hawker food. Some are offering similar food found in restaurants; and some sincere food. There is definitely a change in the foodscape at hawker centres, which gives us consumers more options. Actually, the correct spelling should be &#8220;jiak kan tang&#8221; so we know that the stall-owners are jiak kan tang themselves. haha.
