Singaporeans love fried chicken in <a href=\"https:\/\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/zh\/2014\/08\/31\/best-nasi-lemak-in-singapore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nasi lemak<\/a>. Taiwanese eat it as street food and powder it with chilli. Koreans have a shortened word,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/zh\/2015\/03\/15\/chir-chir-chicken-singapore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>chimaek<\/em><\/a>, which combines fried chicken (<em>chikin<\/em>) and beer (<em>maekju<\/em>), like Brangelina. And of course, Japanese have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/zh\/?s=kaarage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>kaarage<\/em><\/a>. (In fact, a specialty kaarage restaurant made it to our <a href=\"http:\/\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/zh\/2018\/11\/26\/best-casual-restaurant-singapore-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10 Best Casual Restaurants in Singapore for Year-End Gatherings 2018<\/a>.)\u00a0<strong>Kindori at CHIJmes<\/strong> is just that: Japanese fried chicken and Japanese craft beers.<\/p>\n<p>Kindori is located at the no-frills, al-fresco area outside the <a href=\"https:\/\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/zh\/2018\/02\/12\/renga-ya-singapore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">yakiniku restaurant Renga-ya<\/a> which is their sister restaurant.\u00a0The wooden deck furniture and soft lighting convey a relaxed atmosphere, great for\u00a0social night out and post-work drinks. There is just enough batter to convey mouth feel, and as you can see from the picture, it\u2019s not glistening with oiliness either. As you cut the chicken, you witness the juices flowing out.\u00a0The kampong chicken is certainly firmer than what you might expect at fried chicken chains, but it is still enjoyable. Or you can opt for\u00a0<strong>Magic Ikura Cream<\/strong> ($8), fresh cream topped with ikura, which is cool and light, a good cooling yin to the deep-fried yang of the chicken.<\/p>\n<p>For the sauces,\u00a0the <strong>Kare Curry<\/strong> leans more towards the Indian variety than the sweet Japanese flavour. The <strong>Wasabi Cream<\/strong> could have been mistaken for savoury mustard. The standout dip for me is the <strong>Umami Ume <\/strong>for its\u00a0tanginess.
