Definitely a great place for a guilt-free experience.<\/p>\n

Housed in a 4000sqft space, Ryan\u2019s Kitchen\u2019s ingredients come straight from its neighbouring grocery store. You can even select from its wide variety of meat cuts at the grocery to be sent to the kitchen to be cooked.<\/p>\n

We had two fried finger foods to begin \u2013 Breaded Wild-Caught Whiting with Tartar Sauce ($16++)<\/strong> and Crispy Pork Belly Nuggets with BBQ Relish ($12++)<\/strong>. Both not overly fried, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside as they should be; both great accompaniments to beer.<\/p>\n

The crispy pork belly<\/strong> is like a deconstructed sweet and sour pork with the sweet onion relish on the side \u2013 though I wished they had removed the rind before deep frying it, the chewiness of it made the crunchiness of the dish less delightful.<\/p>\n

The Aussie The \u2018Lot\u2019 Burger with Ciabatta Bun ($28++)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Then, there were The Aussie The \u2018Lot\u2019 Burger with Ciabatta Bun ($28++)<\/strong> and Mushroom Swiss Burger with Keto Bun ($25++)<\/strong> as well. Both burgers are proper burger patties, just minced beef and salt and no other nonsense added in.<\/p>\n

They are juicy, well cooked and well seasoned \u2013 I was skeptical about the keto bun<\/strong> but it turned out surprisingly delicious. It\u2019s not as fluffy as the usual gluten-laden burger bun but it\u2019s suitably dense, chewy and after some mastication, an umami flavor emerges.<\/p>\n

The Mushroom Swiss<\/strong> tastes like an atas, sumptuous version of its cousin at BK.<\/p>\n

Sausages (from topdown: cumberland, chorizo, beef)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The sausages<\/strong>\u00a0offered at Ryan\u2019s Kitchen are all house-made. But for me, that\u2019s where the interestingness ends. The taste isn\u2019t as spectacular as I\u2019d\u2019ve hoped for sausages made inhouse i.e. chockful of flavor. I mean why not go wild with the flavouring?<\/p>\n

The Borrowdale Free Range Pork Cumberland Sausage ($2.80-$3.50 per piece; $2.80 per 100g) <\/strong>doesn\u2019t have the reminiscent strong flavours of pork and herbs like they did back in the UK.<\/p>\n

The Borrowdale Free Range Pork Chorizo ($2.80-$3.50 per piece; $2.80 per 100g) <\/strong>is mildly spicy and the Mara Organic Herb and Garlic Beef Sausage ($3.00-$4.00 per piece; $3.00 per 100g)<\/strong>, well, modest with its garlicky aroma.<\/p>\n

The meats in the sausages also feel overly minced, somewhat floury \u2013 a middle ground between chunky homemade sausages and the smooth processed ones. It\u2019s not something I\u2019d come here for.<\/p>\n

Borrowdale Free Range Pork Collar ($28++)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The next dish, the Borrowdale Free Range Pork Collar ($28++)<\/strong>, is also a letdown. The chutneys on the side are nice, the fatty bits of the pork are nice but where there is meat, there is also dryness.<\/p>\n

Five Founders Carbon Neutral Certified Beef OP Ribs ($148++)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Thankfully we ended off on a high with the Five Founders Carbon Neutral Certified Beef OP Ribs ($148++)<\/strong>. It is a generous 1kg of succulent, chunky, glorious, medium-rare beef that can easily feed 3-4 (if not ordering any other dishes) paired with a sauce made with the its drippings. I would come here for this (and the burgers).<\/p>\n

If you want wholesome, honest-to-goodness bovine indulgences, this is the place to come to.<\/p>\n
