It is removing reasons to become annoyed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mostly, it succeeds.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Deluxe Marina Bay Room Is Properly Spacious<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"681\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/2-Fairmont-Singapore.webp?resize=1024%2C681&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Modern hotel room with a white bed, dark furnishings, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea and city. A flower-topped table adds a calm, upscale feel.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I stayed in a <strong>Deluxe Marina Bay Room<\/strong>, which measures around 45 square metres and comes with a private balcony.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">45 square metres still feels generous in Singapore. I could leave my suitcase open without blocking the walkway, use the desk properly and move around the bed without negotiating with furniture.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The room itself is <strong>contemporary rather than memorable<\/strong>. There is a large bed, substantial work desk, glossy minibar console and a bathroom with both a deep bathtub and separate rain shower.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Marina Bay view did more of the decorative work.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mine looked towards the bay from a high floor, although it was not a completely unobstructed postcard. Buildings and structures still entered the frame. I would request a higher floor if the view is a major reason for booking.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The balcony mattered more than I expected. I stood outside early the first morning with coffee while the city was still relatively quiet. By 8am, Singapore had returned to work.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inside, <strong>the bed was excellent and the room stayed quiet<\/strong> enough for me to sleep without thinking about traffic below.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then I got up during the night\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bedroom Lights Have Their Own Ideas<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"681\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/3-Fairmont-Singapore.webp?resize=1024%2C681&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"A warm, modern hotel bedroom with a white bed, purple velvet bench, gray chaise lounge, city-view windows, and soft amber lighting.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The room uses <strong>motion-sensitive night lighting<\/strong>. In theory, this is thoughtful. Get out of bed in darkness and low lights help you find the bathroom.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In practice, I triggered them at around 2am and then spent longer than necessary trying to persuade them to switch off again. It was the most irritating part of an otherwise unusually frictionless room.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The filtered-water dispenser also required patience<\/strong>. I liked not accumulating plastic bottles but filling one bottle took noticeably longer than turning on a normal tap.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are minor complaints. But small design decisions become surprisingly important after the first night when you stop admiring the room and start actually living in it.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breakfast at Prego Is Better Before It Gets Busy<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"681\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/4-Fairmont-Singapore.webp?resize=1024%2C681&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"A festive pastry shop display features chocolate sculptures, cakes, rows of red-topped sweets, and decorated Christmas trees against a brick wall.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had breakfast at <strong>Prego<\/strong> rather than trying to sample every breakfast venue in the building (they have three options).<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The buffet was broad without becoming ridiculous<\/strong>: pastries, breads, fruit, eggs cooked to order, hot Western dishes and a smaller range of Asian options.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I went for coffee first. <strong>The latte was good<\/strong> enough that I ordered another which is a better endorsement than me listing 20 buffet items I did not eat.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eggs arrived properly cooked, pastries were fresh and the fruit selection looked cared for rather than added as an obligation.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By later in the morning, the restaurant had become noticeably busier. Prego&#8217;s position near the lobby also means breakfast never feels particularly private.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Still, I preferred that to an oversized ballroom buffet where finding your table again becomes part of the meal.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Pool Is Useful, Not Seductive<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"681\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/5-Fairmont-Singapore.webp?resize=1024%2C681&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"A large turquoise resort pool sits in a white stone deck, surrounded by palm trees, shaded lounge chairs, and a bright blue sky, creating a serene, luxurious atmosphere.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fairmont Singapore has <strong>two outdoor pools on Level 8<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are pleasant, particularly for families but I would not choose the hotel because of them.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I went down in the afternoon and immediately understood complaints about the water feeling cold. Parts of the pool area spend significant time in shade, which is welcome when sitting outside in Singapore but less convincing once you are actually in the water.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After my recent stay at <a href=\"https:\/\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/zh\/2026\/10\/01\/amara-sanctuary-sentosa-hotel-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amara Sanctuary Sentosa<\/a>, where swimming pools and tropical grounds are central to the experience, Fairmont felt completely different.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here, the pool is an amenity<\/strong>. At Amara, it is part of the reason for going.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Best Facility Is Raffles City<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"681\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/6-Fairmont-Singapore.webp?resize=1024%2C681&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Low-angle view of the Fairmont Singapore hotel entrance, with a circular fountain, silver facade, greenery, and bright blue sky conveying upscale calm.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The real advantage of Fairmont Singapore appears when you leave the hotel room.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On my first evening, I went downstairs for dinner without stepping outdoors. The next morning, I walked towards the Civic District and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitsingapore.com\/neighbourhood\/featured-neighbourhood\/marina-bay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marina Bay<\/a>. Later, when the afternoon heat became irritating, I returned through City Hall MRT directly into Raffles City.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No taxi calculations. No umbrella negotiations.<\/strong> No deciding whether a 12-minute walk was worth arriving somewhere damp.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For travellers visiting Singapore for only a few days that convenience is difficult to overstate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concierge was similarly practical. When I asked about getting somewhere nearby, the response was not automatically a taxi. I was given a walking route, an MRT option and a realistic warning about the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That was useful hospitality rather than performative hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Service Is Quietly Reliable<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"681\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/7-Fairmont-Singapore.webp?resize=1024%2C681&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"A spacious hotel lobby with guests, reception desks, and lounge seating beneath a dramatic canopy of glowing white spheres, creating an elegant, serene atmosphere.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Housekeeping was one of the strongest parts of my stay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The room was restored carefully rather than aggressively reset. Used towels disappeared, water was replenished and the bathroom returned to order without my belongings being moved unnecessarily.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staff throughout the hotel were warm, although this remains a 778-room property. There are moments in the lobby when its scale becomes obvious.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What impressed me was how rarely that scale became my problem.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is probably Fairmont&#8217;s greatest operational achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is Fairmont Singapore Worth Staying At?<\/h3>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"681\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/8-Fairmont-Singapore.webp?resize=1024%2C681&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"A luxurious hotel lobby features mirrored orb sculptures overhead, gold-framed display tables, and a patterned floor, creating a dramatic, elegant atmosphere.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, for the right traveller.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would choose it for a first trip to Singapore, a short city stay, a family holiday or a business trip where losing 20 minutes to unnecessary logistics becomes genuinely irritating.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Travellers looking for boutique personality, a resort-like pool or a hotel that feels culturally specific may find it less compelling.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the <a href=\"https:\/\/rubbisheatrubbishgrow.com\/zh\/2026\/02\/13\/best-hotels-in-singapore-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">best hotels in Singapore<\/a>, Fairmont Singapore stands out less for spectacle than for usefulness.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After two nights, I did not leave thinking about the lobby design or the colour of the cushions. I remembered being able to get somewhere easily, sleep properly, eat well and return without planning the journey home.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fairmont Singapore removes so many small annoyances that the sensor light waking me at 2am became memorable simply because there was so little else to complain about.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes that is luxury too.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This review is based on Celeste Tan\u2019s stay at Fairmont Singapore.
