I used to say Raffles Creamery was my favorite ice cream shop. The quality of the ice cream was superior to other shops, and the ice cream wasn’t excruciatingly sweet. But recently when I returned, the ice cream seemed to lose its class and became as generic as other shops.
And it is notoriously difficult to get served because the servers are inside Seah Street Deli and they don’t always look out to see if there is anyone at the parlor. A easy solution is to install an electric bell that is linked to the restaurant, which, sad to say, no one has thought of.
Still, a very leisurely, quiet–no teenagers!–and colonial environment. Because of my previous good experience, I’d come back again and give it another chance.
