Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, Maxwell Market

I’m not a big fan of Hainanese chicken rice ever since I was a boy because I thought it tasted like injections. It took me a long to acculturate my taste to it. Still I prefer the roasted chicken rice.

I’ve heard of this famed Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice stall for a long time but still I don’t queue for food, I wouldn’t get a chance to taste it. But when I past it the other day at 6pm, dinner time, there were only TWO people in the queue, each ordering an entire chicken, and there was only half a chicken left. So I just ordered a plate because after I queued, the queue got terribly long but I don’t think people behind me had a chance.

For $4, it was value for money. The rice is, as all good rice should be, separated from one another and the chicken was smooth. The chili enhanced the taste, so if you don’t eat chili, you won’t appreciate this. I wouldn’t queue for this but don’t mind eating it again.
