If you follow me on insta-story, you’ll know I support and try a lot of home businesses’ food – but they are usually quite mid. Here’s one brilliant home business: the Long Weekend Pizza at St Patrick’s Road (sandwiched between East Coast Road and Marine Parade Road). They only open from Friday to Sunday, 5.30pm to 9pm, hence their name.
Here’s how you order: you whatsapp them, state your items, pay online, and they will give you a time to collect the pizzas. (See menu and phone number at the end of this blog entry.) You pick up the pizzas and drive away immediately, because this is a housing estate, and the lane is narrow. If you park your car and eat there, it will cause a traffic congestion. They run a brisk business, there were many cars when I went. (The shop can also be named “the drive through pizza.”)
But if you don’t drive, not to worry. They have two small tables set up at its gate, so you can eat at the location. It’s actually better if you don’t drive because you can eat the pizza hot. I ate a slice hot there on the spot, and brought the rest home to finish; there was a palpable difference.
To me, there are 4 components to a good pizza:
- Very high temperature wood fire. This gives the pizza a smokey aroma and cooks the pizza within a minute or so, giving rise to what is called “leopard spots” or those charred spots at the crust. I think the Long Weekend Pizza nailed this.

2. A good crust. A thick or thin crust is a personal preference, so I won’t talk about it. The Long Weekend’s pizza is thin. The crust is tasty but it flops and is soggy when you lift it up. Still a good, tasty crust if they can solve the textural issue.

3. A good tomato base and cheese. The cheese here is great but I feel like the tomato paste can be improved. It feels like it’s straight out of a can.

4. Good toppings. The toppings are super tasty. The little sausage bits are umami.
Overall, this is one FANTASTIC, AMAZING pizza. I I hate it when influencers say “this is the best [insert food] in Singapore.” But The Long Weekend Pizza is really excellent when you eat it hot. Pizzas are different when cooled. So I advise you not to drive, take a bus there, and eat it on the spot.
