Move over, Hydro Flask. This is REAL hoof water bottle made by South American indigenous tribes.

Colombian chef Fernando Arevalo (formerly Precludio and Bacata) started the only Colombian restaurant @latido.sg in Singapore (and maybe Southeast Asia). Latido means “heartbeat.” Colombian food has influences from Spain, Africa, and the indigenous tribes. And in this restaurant there are some Singaporean influences too (his wife is Singapore). (The art pieces and cushions in the restaurant are made by South American indigenous tribes.)

The food is fantastic. Here are some highlights:

  • Rye bread ($8): this one is legendary from the chef’s days at Precludio. Fermented mushroom glaze, bacon fat, onion butter.
  • Bocados de tiradito ($22): ceviche, tiger’s milk, lime pearls in kueh pie tee shells made in-house. So many complex and delicious flavours here!
  • Pincho de Corazones (S$22): grilled chicken hearts, red wine-egg yolk sauce, duckfat Andes potato. It’s like yakitori!
  • Sweet corn cake, pork jowl, egg ($22): it’s like a pancake x tacos? It’s super delicious. My friend and I shared one but i wish I didn’t!!
  • Chipiron ($36): cuttlefish on salted egg yolk sauce. He created this dish for his Colombian-Singaporean daughter.
