The food at Canchita (📍9A Dempsey) is mindblowing but first we took a walk around Dempsey hill, getting to know the history though the new immersive audio tour app (Cinewav app) through Klook.

Ok now the food. I’ve been following chef Daniel since his Santi days at mbs 15 years ago. And now at his restaurant Canchita, I am still taken by the complex Peruvian flavours.

Highlights at Canchita :

🦀 liked both ceviche mixto (seafood mix, $32) and ceviche loco loco (octopus, $32). If you prefer an intensely sour and appetising ceviche, loco loco has your name. if you are interested in interesting textures, it’s mixto.

🌮 chicken taco (2 pc, $20): I know tacos is Mexican but the flavours are insane 🤯🤯🤯 ⭐️must order⭐️

🍚 the seafood rice ($38) has a plethora of seafood in an intense 🍅 sauce with a pungent parmesan 🧀. Quality seafood, umami flavors.

🦑 mariscada ($46): a mix of seafood sounds simple but it’s hard because each takes up a different time to cook. Based on the strength of the squid, perfectly chewy and smokey, this is a ⭐️must order⭐️

🍰 both desserts, tres leches cake (3-milk cake) and alfajores (butter cookies, caramelised milk), are good.
