🦆 Kamo by London Fat Duck (📍Orchard Rendezvous Hotel, 01-01) is a modern Chinese restaurant that uses premium ingredients worldwide including from Japan and, of course, Ireland where the ducks drink only spring water. (Better life than me. I drink tap.)
🧧 6-course set starts from $128. There are also a la carte options.
🏡 I’m a little confused with the branding. “Kamo”is duck in Japanese, but I think they are going for 1920s Shanghai vibe, compatible with the modern Chinese food, nothing Japanese. But the food is good. Some highlights:
🦆 braised Irish duck: beautiful quality pristine meat. On its own, might be a bit salty, will go amazing with rice.
🐠 NOT sharks fin: this is Elephant Fish Fin with
Crab Roe and Crab Meat. They got crabs from Japan. Love that it’s packed with ingredients although I think they can leave out the cabbage.
🐡 black cod: This is a fun and tasty variation of Nobu’s miso black cod. They use fermented black bean, not miso.
🐮 claypot Shanghai noodles with a5 omigyu: This is my fav. A bit salty, a bit sweet. Super delicious.
