Getting Around Perth City
Taxis are relatively affordable. But within the city itself, it’s walkable and there are free CAT buses. I walked from the north to south in only 30 minutes. Please do NOT waste money and buy TransPerth passes for buses and trains.

Where to Stay in Perth City
St Georges Terrace is the main street for commerce and banking. Hay St and Murray St, bounded by William St and Barrack St, are the main shopping areas. So staying anywhere within the red circle is ideal.
We stayed at Four Points by Sheraton, under the SPG group, for about A$200 a night. It was awesome. Great service, especially by this pretty receptionist. Rather new. Inexpensive. And great location. A 15-min walk to shopping district or to Northbridge, and about a 25-minute walk to Kings Park.
One complaint we had was there was free wifi only at the lobby, so you’d have to go down to the lobby to use your smart phone. Not very smart is it?
Not much amenities: no breakfast, small gym room, no pool, no bath tub, no toothbrush, and they ran out of shower gel, we had to use soap. Retro.
