So Concorde Hotel food court is famous for the cheap Korean food, right? You may not know it but years and years ago, the thai stall was so fabulous. It was way before Thai Express. I love it. The stall is managed by Thai, and the food cooked by Thai. I keep going back for the Thai food for years that I didn’t know the Korean food is the famous one.
Seafood pad thai. I know the noodles looked messy in the photo, that’s because I’m the food critic who always forgets to take photos of food before eating it. Eh, hungry what!
And it was disgusting and I was irritated by the drop in standards. The squid wasn’t washed properly so the stink was all over the dish. But maybe it is how the Thais like it, to have the briny, brackish taste of the ocean.
So after I finished eating it, slammed my hand on the table, stalked up to the stall and said, “Auntie, one green curry!”
And the auntie informed me that I was lucky because it wasn’t every day they have green curry.
OH MY GOD. So sedap! This was as good as Ah Loy Thai at Shaw Tower. The semi-circle thing you see in the photo is green branjal/eggplant, native to Thailand. Authentic! It was spicy but because the coconut milk was thicker than the Ah Loy Thai’s green curry, it was creamy and tricked the tastebuds into thinking it wasn’t spicy. I especially the radioactive neon green color! So bizarre and lovely. After eating the pad thai, I was already full but I still thought the green curry was excellent. That proves how great it is! (I make a good politician hor? with my great logic.)
