As usual, in ranking of my preference, from least favorite to most…

tamper & Co cafe singaporeA cake supplier gave samples to Tamper & Co and, in the end, T&C decided not to buy from that supplier. However, the cafe took a photo of the cakes and used the photo as their cover on FB. While T&C didn’t infringe any copyright laws legally, it’s problematic ethically. The cover photo implies to cafegoers and consumers that T&C is selling those cakes. For example, when you see a Uniqlo poster, you assume the model is wearing Uniqlo label and the store is selling the clothes in the poster. But in T&C’s case, it turns out that in the Uniqlo poster, the model is wearing H&M clothes and you can’t find the clothes at Uniqlo. Mind boggling.

I don’t quite understand why T&C wants to do something like that but given that T&C likes to invoke the law so often (see this and this), I’d advise you to give the cafe a wide berth. Maybe they should change their name to Temper & Co.

And the waffles was exorbitant ($16 with a scoop of ice cream!). It was flat, and boring. (Please don’t sue, taste is subjective.)

ps: I visited T&C before the litigations.

on the table cafe singaporeTaste-wise normal. But it was the hardest waffles I had had. It took muscles to saw through it. If a certain part of my body could remain this hard, it’s a good thing. But hard isn’t a good look on waffles.

I am talking about abs.

the quarters cafe singaporeSequestered at a corner of Icon (who knows where Icon is??), what the waffles lacked in texture (soft and limp), it made up for the interesting flavours. $10 came with 2 scoops of ice cream–pandan ice cream and lemongrass ice cream–and drizzled with gula melaka, producing a kaya-like waffles. We heard they have buah keluak ice cream too–that’s exotic. Local flavors, Singapore pride.

We paid for our meals.

    1. I dare not agree or disagree with you… Skeli I kanna sue by them. Haha

  2. I’m scared to eat at that café and might be too stressed out to even enjoy anything there after all the drama.

    1. Me too. I usually write and post without even proofreading. But for this entry, I read it many many times before deciding to post.

  3. What a horrible idea to look at these yummy photos at midnight :( especially when I’m prone to eating late at night.

  4. Like your humour! 😂

  5. […] The Quarters is best for their desserts. The buah keluak ice cream, that comes with brownie ($10.80), was savory with a pungent bitter finish, and any foodie worth her salt should try this. The Quarters has improved their waffles ($12.80) since the last time I was here. […]
