The weekend high tea serves local food, buffet style, from the Peranakan kueh pie tee to Indian prata to the English cucumber sandwich.

The selection was just right, enough varieties, but not so much to be overwhelmed.

Much of the food was carbo–like donuts, biriyani, fried carrot cake–with few proteins options like the masala chicken and curry snakefish.

In general, the food was rather good quality, and we love the fried chicken wings, prawn noodles soup, and laksa.

But the desserts were deeply flawed. What needed to be soft was hard; what needed to be textured was monotonous; what needed to be fruity was artificial tasting; what needed to be complex tasting was overly sweet; with the exception of the egg tart. Balanced with a crusty skin. Rather good.

This was overall a good experience. Good attentive service. Good, quality selection. And best of all, rather affordable. We paid $164 for four persons, or about $40 for one.
