Under the Les Amis group, Sushi Jin at One Farrer Park Hotel tries to bridge the gap between the fine-dining and mass market Japanese food. Helmed by Chef Raymond Tan, the restaurant flies in ingredients from Tokyo‘s Tsukiji market. (When we were there, Tan was the head chef, but he has left to start Sushi Murasaki.)
Truffle Chawanmushi ($15)
Wagyu don ($35)
The set lunch starts from $22 to $130 (omakase set). Doing a post on Best Beef Bowl in Singapore, Pinky Piggu went for the wagyu don, which wasn’t bad, but the focus was wrong. The truffle oil overwhelmed and took away the focus from the beef.
Sashimi Set ($38)
Sushi set (Premium, $45)
Huccalyly had the sashimi set, and I had the premium sushi set. It was okay.
I paid $53 for my set. As a whole, the experience was ok. It’s not memorable, but it’s not bad.
