Some of the restuarants I visited in the past 2 weeks:
Basilico at Conrad Orchard Singapore
Conrad Orchard Level 2, 1 Cuscaden Rd, Singapore 249715
t: +65 6725 3232
Lunch/brunch: M – F: 12 – 2:30 pm, Sat & Sun 12 pm – 3 pm
dinner: Daily, 6:30 – 10 pm

Basilico has refreshed the look of its bar, helmed by Bartender Oliver Garcia O’Brien, focusing on vermouth cocktails that are surprisingly versatile: from the piquant to the spicy. If you like the Japanese umeshu, I recommend the Caffé Freddo (lemon grappa, Cocchi Dry, coffee, and lemon tincture).
The buffet restaurant has a newly appointed Chef de Cuisine Davide Del Gatto and serves Italian seasonal food. Highlights include raw bar with prime seafood and fresh salad options, live grill stations with chargrilled Mediterranean-style prawns,
sirloin and tomahawk steak, a live pasta station, and new Romana-style pizzas, where the pizza dough is fermented for 48 hours.
Weekday Lunch: $68++ per adult; $34++ per child
Weekend Brunch: $128++ per adult; $64++ per child (additional $50++ free flow sparkling, white and red wines and draft beers)
Buffet Dinner: $98++ per adult, $49++ per child

With over 100 restaurants nationwide in China, SO DO FUN is known for their signature dish “Boiled Live Fish” 水煮鱼 amongst other classic Sichuan dishes that were perfected over the last 17 years. The restaurant has won numerous awards, including breaking a country record of having an 11-hour long queue in China.
Comparing to Tai’er... I think Tai’er and So Do Fun serve different functions. If I just want the fish solely, I’ll visit Tai’er but if there’s a large group of 6 and more and we require more variety of dishes, then So Do Fun is more suited.
Unabara Grilled Fish

If u know Japanese food at all, you’ll know the raw ingredient of gindara black cod is very expensive. I’m surprised by the good value I paid for this. About $23. It’s not the best ichiju-sansai (meaning 3 cai 1 tang) I had but given this price point, I think Unabara did really well. It’s a place I would support.
