Fat Cow, Camden Medical Centre: Great Stexpectations Fell Short

fat cow singapore reviewAfter reading all the wonderful reviews of Fat Cow, a Japanese steakhouse at Camden Medical Centre, we were let down by their set lunch. Other reviews throw around words like “quality,” “value for money,” etc, but it was not what we found.

fat cow sg menuAll three of us ordered the beef-foie-gras bowl, and added an onsen egg. The rice wasn’t sticky or flavorful. At this price, I expected the steak to come in strips, instead of being so diced up. Huccalyly lamented, “Why bother asking us how we want our beef done when it’s all chopped up?”

Besides, I didn’t like it that the waitress rudely interrupted us on two occasions, although the pinoy waiter was nice and professional. There are so many better restaurants we could have lunch at with the $183 for 3 persons we paid.

  1. It certainly sounds disappointing. Have you tried Yakinikutei Ao-chan at Concorde? The lunch sets are around $20, and all of us dug in on the ox tongue set meal. Mostly Japanese customers (always a sign of great stuff).

  2. I was extremely disappointed too, tried it about a year or so ago. Never going back.

I’d rather spend $18 for the lunch set at Takumi (Keppel Marina). Very limited sets, but superbly executed. Go for the negitoro don or the garlic pork. SEDAP!
