After reading all the wonderful reviews of Fat Cow, a Japanese steakhouse at Camden Medical Centre, we were let down by their set lunch. Other reviews throw around words like “quality,” “value for money,” etc, but it was not what we found.
All three of us ordered the beef-foie-gras bowl, and added an onsen egg. The rice wasn’t sticky or flavorful. At this price, I expected the steak to come in strips, instead of being so diced up. Huccalyly lamented, “Why bother asking us how we want our beef done when it’s all chopped up?”
Furthermore, the texture was overly chewy, full of tendons. The taste was so bland we requested for more salt. The sea salt made the beef more palatable.
This was a damn unsatisfying bowl I felt like I had to eat something awesome after it. Besides, I didn’t like it that the waitress rudely interrupted us on two occasions, although the pinoy waiter was nice and professional. There are so many better restaurants we could have lunch at with the $183 for 3 persons we paid.
