With 27 outlets all over the world, Coyote Ugly Saloon opened its latest franchise in Clarke Quay in January, its second outlet in Asia after Japan’s. Not bad coming from a small New York City bar established in 1993.
If you remember the American rom com, Coyote Ugly (2000), the movie is inspired by the bar. Maybe that’s how the fanfaronade came about with the tagline that reads “the Most Famous Bar On The Planet.”
Taking over the space of what used to be f.Club, the bar-restaurant injects new excitement in the Singapore bar scene. Activities include happy Hour deals (5pm to 9pm daily) that knock off 50% for draught beers, house pour spirits, and wines; Sassy female bartenders and live entertainment; Pool tables and bucking machine;
and ladies, if you’re game, get on the bar top and dance for free drinks or free flow wines, cava and G&T from 6pm to 9pm for $38++ on Wednesdays (Ladies’ Night); free shots on Saturdays if you dance on the bar top. A maximum of 20 ladies are allowed on the bar top and dancing with stilettos, slippers or being barefoot is not permitted.

Good Friends Platter
For mains, Good Friends Platter ($56++, for 3-4 pax) consists ¼ Nashville chicken, House BBQ pork rib, Coyote Ugly burger, crispy baby aubergine.
There are three levels of spiciness you can choose for Nashville chicken and Buffalo wings which are tangy and spicy.
The pork ribs are flavourful and tender.

Nashville Chicken burger
The Coyote Ugly burger is better than what I expected. The meat patty is cooked medium (you can choose the doneness – medium rare, medium and medium well) and is not dry. Sandwiched between a brioche bun, the patty goes well with a sunny side up and mayo.

Pulled pork burger
We got to sample two other burgers: Nashville chicken burger ($16++) and pulled pork burger ($18++). Out of the three burgers, I would go for the pulled pork burger as the combination of the tender pulled pork doused in rich BBQ sauce with gouda cheese is a winner.
As we didn’t get to try the pizzas, I might give them a go the next time I visit.

Quesadilla
There is also a selection of bar bites: the seafood fried quesadilla with pico de gallo and hot mayo ($15++) and corn flake popcorn chicken with aioli ($14++). Nothing to shout about but they are decent grub.
Dining and/or drinking here are not exactly cheap but I’ll gladly come back again for the Happy Hour deals and lively atmosphere. It also helps that the bar is spacious and can pack a capacity crowd of 700.
