The Entertainer App has created a win-win situation for everyone. In 2015, I saved $688 using the Entertainer App (photo on right as proof), and the app also drives traffic to establishments. Happy ending for everyone.
This year, I’ve already checked out a few of the 16 fine-dining restaurants, 34 cafes, 85 afterwork/gathering places, and 38 family-friendly casual restaurants.
Spizza Mercato at Capitol Piazza (13 Stamford Road, Capitol Piazza #B2-52 Singapore 178905; +65 6702 1835; 10.30am-10.30pm) is the second casual restaurant under Entertainer I’ve checked out this year. “Mercato” means “market,” and the difference between Spizza and Spizza Mercato is that Mercato sells Italian grocery (like parma ham) and kitchen utensils.
The 1-for-1 deal offered here is good for both pizzas and pastas; you can order 1 pizza and 1 pasta. The pastas start from $14 onwards, and the pizzas from $18. So ordering 1-for-1 means 2 persons only need to pay about $20! $10 each!
Burratina ($22)
Fried chicken (4 pcs $10/ 6pcs $11.50)
Both the pizza and pasta we tried are good. We wanted a light pasta and chose the “Create Your Own Pasta” option, using freshly made fettuccine ($17.50, below) with pesto (free topping). Mr Fitness couldn’t get enough of it. It’s almost impossible for fresh pasta to achieve an al dente texture—only dry pasta can—so it may be soft, which I didn’t mind. Unlike the usual olive oil-based pesto, there is cream added, giving it a richness. There is also a liquorice taste (fennel?), which makes it piquant and exciting.
The tara pizza ($20 10-inch/$24 12-inch, below) is pretty good too: thin, light, and there are “leopard spots” (burnt marks) which are characteristic of authentic Neapolitan pizzas. The combination of egg, bacon, mushroom, on mozzarella on Tara is a crowd-pleaser.
Spizzas have many outlets, and going to a Spizza joint, you’d know what to expect. Come on, you can’t complain at $10 per person when using the Entertainer app! If you haven’t purchased the app, my discount code 2016RERG gives you $10 off.
Panna cotta ($8)
